(FILE) Argentine footballer Fernando Caceres, playing for Spain's Celta de Vigo, controls the ball during a Spanish league match against La Coruña, at Balaidos stadium in Vigo on May 24, 2003. Fourty-year-old Caceres, reserve coach of Argentina's Independiente, was shot in the face on November 1, 2009 when thieves tried to steel his car in Ciudadela, on the outskirts of Buenos Aires. The ex footballer underwent surgery after being shot in the right eye and is in serious condition. Doctors decided to leave the bullet in the skull where it was lodged, for it was to risky to had it removed. Caceres played for Argentina's Argentinos Juniors, River Plate, Boca and Independiente, and Spain's Real Zaragoza, Valencia and Celta de Vigo.
